Summer is definitely here and I love wearing things that reflect the season. I got this dress last summer for vacation from Amazon.com. This dress makes me feel like an island girl even though I’m thousands of miles away.
I styled this look with pink wooden diamond-shaped earrings and gold shimmer sandals. I wore a black midi dress under my chiffon dress because it is sheer. I styled my hair in a puff ponytail and I wore pink lipstick. I like to keep it simple.

Suicide, depression, psychosis, self – mutilation, trauma, abuse, homicidal thoughts are just a few situations that I encounter on a daily basis with children and adolescents. I spend countless hours in emergency rooms, schools, homes, and hospitals responding to crisis. If I am not assessing, I am on the road or doing a lot of paperwork. Over the past few months, I have been adjusting to my new role as a crisis counselor. This is why I haven’t been blogging on a regular basis like I normally do. I want to send a special shout out to a blog sister of mine who actually reached out to me recently because of my hiatus. Thanks Hil for checking on a sister…please go support and follow her https://hilthethrill.wordpress.com.
I wanted to share my look from yesterday. The goal for my crisis style is to be professional and chic. I make sure that I am comfortable so, no heels allowed. So, I rely on cute sandals and flats. My outfit is from Rainbow plus. I recently got my pants for $7. My beaded necklace is from Walmart $3.
I got this tote last spring from TJ Maxx $24.99. I needed something that was professional and efficient for what I have to do. It holds a lot. I found this cute little key chain at a fundraiser. It adds a little flair to tote.
I have been wearing my hair in Havana twist. They are super convenient for my busy schedule. I wore some pink lipstick to add a little life to my face when I don’t have time or energy to add any other makeup.
On Saturday, I chose this look to run errands and go out. Instead of wearing a flirty dress for this warm Tennessee weather. I chose a look that merged masculine and feminine elements. I wore a buttoned down men’s shirt I got from an estate sale for $1 and some old jeans that I have.
I like men’s button down shirts because of the structure and they can be easily converted to women’s wear. You tie the bottom of the shirt into a knot. Wearing high-waisted jeans or a skirt can make the shirt feminine.
I rolled my jeans up and my sleeves some to soften my outfit. I wore brown heeled lace up sandals and ($19.99, Just Fab) and a studded brown handbag ($7, Goodwill). I wore red lipstick and of course big curly hair (a DIY wig I recently made). I made sure I wore a smile! I felt really fabulous and sexy without having “dress up”.

Sending much love and positivity your way,
Hey everyone! I wanted to share one of my favorite go to summer looks. This look was about two summers ago but still wear it. So, it’s a throwback. I have had these palazzo pants for several years now and I love how they flow and sway. They are great for summer weather because the are cool, light, and comfortable. I usually pair these pants with a cute tank or a cute top. I love wearing this salmon colored off the shoulder top because it’s goes well with the pants. I like wearing off the shoulder top because they are sexy without being too revealing. I usually wear this belt with these pants.
The pants and belt are from Cato Fashions. The pants were $15 and the belt was $2.99.
I like wearing my hair in braids or twist because I wear high buns quite often because it’s sleek and great for summer to stay cool.
Thanks for reading! Let me know what you think of the throwback!
Talk to you soon,
It’s been a while since I’ve posted any personal styles from my closet. It’s been even longer since I did a style post with my sister. On Sunday, Jessica and I wore some thrifted garments mixed with non-thrifted garments.
Here are Jessica’s thrifted pieces:
A thrifted skirt from an estate sale $1.00
earrings were bought from a consignment shop $2
Jessica’s skirt was the statement garment and she accessorized to complement her skirt. I added the the belt to finish the look.
I adore color and yellow is one of my favorite colors. I chose to pair my dress with button down shirt for a bold summer look. I kept my accessories simple with gold and pearls. I chose my leopard prints wedges to add some flair since my dress and shirt are solid colors.
My thrifted piece:
Dress from Goodwill $6
