Back in February, I got a random email from WordPress about checking out a resource called Blogging University. I am glad that I read it and didn’t delete it. Blogging U. has several classes that bloggers can take to enhance your blogging experience. I took the Photo 101 course and the Commenting Bootcamp. What happens is once you sign up for a course you get email reminders of what to do. It’s April already and I’m just getting started with my March challenges. Here is the link to Blogging U. if you’re interested.
So today, I will be posting Day One of Photo 101 titled “Home”. I chose to these two pictures. The first picture is a corner in my living room. For those of you who follow me, you know I love color. Over the last holiday, I painted my living room blue and yellow. At home, I let the free-spirited part of me out. The second picture is part of the fence to my backyard.
As you can see, I literally live in color. I would love to know what home means to you!
I look forward to sharing more photos with you all!
Christmas is one of my most favorite times of the year. I love spending time with my family, watching Christmas movies and shows, putting up decorations, and many of the other holiday filled activities. This year, I was excited to be able to celebrate the holidays at work. We had an ugly sweater contest, bought and wrapped gifts for less fortunate families, decorated the laboratory, as well as several other activities. The one activity I would like to share with you guys is the ornaments I made at work. We transformed everyday laboratory items into ornaments for the Christmas tree. The two items used from the lab were a disposable transfer pipet and a petri dish. With the pipet, I made a reindeer using a few arts and crafts supplies, and painted a Christmas tree on the petri dish. I’ve posted pictures below to show you the finished products. As a precaution, I’m no Picasso with the paint brush!
I really love home decor and styling. I like how adding color and simple, statement furniture pieces can change the energy and give personality to your living space. I follow Bedroom Diary on instagram for some really great home style inspirations. Here are a few pics that I recently seen that are stunning.
Since I have been cooking and experimenting in the kitchen, I ran into a few dry food items that have expired…tea and oatmeal. I didn’t want them to go to waste. So, I did some research. I will sharing what I have been doing over the past few weeks.
I made some more changes incorporating natural products to my beauty and cleaning regimens. I am excited to be sharing with you as well. Be on the lookout!
I mentioned that I have been gradually doing work on and in my home in an older post. Everything has been 100% DIY. So during this process, I have been getting a few things here and there to help complete my overall goal. I am almost done with my bedroom. The theme is a mix of fashion, Parisan elements, metallics, floral prints, and vintage inspiration. It may seem a bit much but everything is simple. I found some decorative shoe boxes and other items on sale to go with my theme in my bedroom and around the house. I use the boxes to store my jewelry and other accessories. I bought these items from Dollar General and everything ranged from $.75-$3.00.

I store my clean socks in this laundry container for sorting.
