It’s Friday and I’m excited about the weekend. I wanted to share my casual look from yesterday. I really enjoy making casual styles look fly. I recently got a Barbie Perfect tee from Forever 21 and wanted to rock it. Added some black skinny jeans and my chunky heeled sandal from Just Fab ($14.95). I found this really cute magazine clutch a few weeks ago. I also wore my super cut square studs.
Hello lovelies! Jessica and I went to Atlanta this past weekend to attend the annual World Natural Hair Show. It was a really exciting experience to see so many women rocking their natural hair in afros, twist outs, wash-n-gos, braids, and other styles. There were other vloggers and bloggers there.
I had the opportunity to meet one of my favorite YouTube vloggers Toni Daley (tonidaley.com.) I was super excited to meet her and support your business.
Toni and I
Here’s what I got from Toni:
Africa shaped earrings
Purple head wrap
Jessica got puzzle earrings
I also got some mugs from an artist called Twisted Cheri. She makes posters and drawings of African-American women. www.twistedcheri.com
Our really cute mugs
Here are one of the pics Cheri created
I also got a chance to support other business and I got a chance to stock up on some hair and skin care products.
I got three tubs of natural, unrefined shea butter for a really great price.
I got tons of samples.
This is black soap I use on my skin. One of my favorites.
I am here to do a review on my Ruby Kisses lipstick Purple Affair. I love the boldness of the color. Jessica wore it first and got a lot of positive feedback at work. I had to capture the color on her.
I really like how smooth it goes on. If you ever try this brand, make sure that you do not put any chapstick on before applying the lipstick. It will not come on as smooth. I conditioned my lips but I wiped away the oil before applying. FYI the I paid $2.99 for this color.
If you have been following my blog, you know that I change up my hairstyles often. I have been protecting my natural hair. I recently made my own wig. I have never been a fan of wigs because they look unnatural, and most of all, they are uncomfortable on my big head. I purchased one a few years ago, and it was so tight that I couldn’t think clearly. I accepted the fact that braids and crochet hairstyles would be my go-to styles to protect my hair. I don’t do sew-ins or weaves.
On a brighter side, my wig is super comfortable, cute, and natural. I have been wearing it for over a week now. I can take it off to workout and rest. I am currently working on another for myself and someone else.
Have any of you natural ladies tried wigs or any other protectivestyle?
